Convertible Community Farm and Training Institute
The Convertible Community Farm (CC Farm) and Training Institute is designed to be a working prototype miniature of a convertible community utilizing the current concepts including the Hexayurt “Q” design as the building technology. This project proposes to take a sub-acre (1.0 or less) parcel of land with minimal zoning restrictions and create .10 acre sub-lots in accordance with the specifications outlined in the Convertible Community overview of sustainable living. The critical components that will be constructed in this project are:
1. Housing – living structures constructed from Hexayurt ‘’Q” design modular pods, using the hinged wall system
2. Small animal tractor housing that will be portable to allow moved placement on the lot
3. Convertible community styled growing beds as well as mini plots for other field crops, multiple methods used
4. Orchard – suitable fruit and nut trees will be planted for long term sustainability modeling
5. Mini power plant – sufficient to equip a sub-acre convertible community lot
6. Mini water system – to facilitate clean water, grey water distribution
7. Sewer system – toilet/sewer system for managing black water and waste
8. Demonstration site to allow training builds and other teaching and testing.
We are in the development phase of this project and the following are the current activities:
